Now Halloween and Bonfire Night are behind us and the clocks have gone back, we are all feeling more like picking up our needles and making the most of these dark evenings! We've got lots to tell you this month and read on for details of our Christmas Evening out - which should be a great night!
Firstly THANK YOU!
We would really like to thank all those who have helped knit squares for our blanket for National Knitting Week. We have had over 55 squares back and now we are joining them together the blanket is looking stunning.

Window Watch...
This month we have a great tank top in the window that is knitted in 'Zoom', one of our new yarns from Lang. The large cable makes it really up to the minute and it knitted up really quickly. Zoom is made of 60% Merino, 30% Cotton and 10% Nylon and can be machine washed at 30 degrees. Is incredibly soft and comes in a range of beautiful colours. For a luxurious option you can also knit this in 'Silk Dream' which is 50% Silk and 50% Wool.donated by Bergere de France who have a fabulous range of gorgeous, reasonably priced yarns and beautiful patterns.

A new arrival - Lang Yarns!
On our recent trip to Alexandra Palace we spotted a stand with some really unusual patterns and yarns which we had not heard of before. It turned out that Lang Yarns (a German/Swiss company) have only been distributing in this country for a month which gave us an excellent opportunity to stock ANOTHER great range of yarns which are new and exciting.
We are really impressed with the patterns which all come in a wide range of sizes and the yarns are fabulous. They have also lent us a great garment which is knitted in 'Tonga', a ladder yarn similar to Melody which we have in the shop. So far customers have loved the selection and Andrea and I have a list of patterns we want to knit! If you fancy knitting something for the man in your life there are some lovely Men's patterns.

Scarf Kits
When we went to the Craft, Hobby and Stitch Trade show in February we saw a wall of wool from Australia, all arranged in blocks of colour, the textures and colour mixes of the yarns were breathtaking. When we enquired about supply we were told that the minimum order was 1000 balls in each colour!! So imagine how excited we were when we found out that Groves and Banks have put some scarf and bag kits together using their yarns! We have the full range in the shop and have made up some samples so you can see just how gorgeous they are. The scarf kits are £8.50 and the bag kits £14.95 and would make a great Christmas present, either as a kit or knitted up!

Website of the Month :: www.knittingpatterncentral.com
I've come across a great website this month - especially if you like free patterns! knittingpatterncentral.com has a huge library of patterns as well as a great Tips 'n Tricks section that you can log into and add any tips you have. There is an extensive Instruction Directory and also an excellent Stitch Directory. You could spend hours on this site. I have knitted some gloves for my husband and my next project is some Christmas decorations.
