We have had a great month at The Knitting Hut. We’ve taught people to knit, helped with problems and met some great knitters. The hanging sign went up a couple of weeks ago, so now you can see us when you’re driving into Woburn Sands. Now Summer is here we are into bags (see Window Watch) and summer scarves - watch the window for a fabulous display of scarves coming soon!

Window Watch...
Our window this month is showcasing a fabulous cardigan knitted in “Gala”. Gala is a silk and linen mix yarn and has to be seen to be appreciated fully. This brown version has a hint of bronze and the other colours are fabulous, with both rich bright colours and more subtle shades. The back of the cardigan shows the great shaping and beautiful pattern. The cost of knitting the cardigan is between £50 and £55, depending on size.

Summer Bags...
We have a selection of beautiful bags on display in the shop which are all easy to achieve and a great short project or a lovely gift! We also have a selection of bag handles, including bamboo handles which are fairtrade. You can make a bag for as little as £8.95 using two balls of Venezia and a pair of small bamboo bag handles. We have some fabulous new colours in which would be great for a bag or ideal for those of you planning ahead and making scarves as presents for (dare I say it...) Christmas!

Bear in a Bag...
We are just launching our second kit which is a teddy bear and a jumper for him to wear. He is approximately 9” tall and the kit includes everything you need to make him and his jumper, including instructions. His design is based on knitted squares using garter stitch and is an easy project for someone who is new to knitting. His jumper is again based on squares and is knitted in stocking stitch with a little rib around the edges. We plan to produce patterns regularly so that you can add to his (or her!) wardrobe with items such as a football kit for Samuel Bear and a ballet outfit for Samantha Bear!
He comes in his own calico bag and would make a lovely present - either as a kit or knitted up! The kit costs £9.99 and includes everything you need, even a darning needle to sew him up!
