Window Watch...
I have just finished knitting the cover design from Vogue Knitting Magazine for the window and I’m really pleased with it. Andrea has kindly lent her new dress which goes with it perfectly! It was knitted in Rooster Almerino Aran and took just under 9 balls. It’s much easier to knit than it looks and if you fancy having a go and need some help, let me know!

Summer yarns
We love the new Summer yarns from Lang Yarns! With some great patterns to back them up the colours are gorgeous and the yarn used for this jumper is 50% Cotton and 50% Bamboo - this year’s hottest fibre! It is called Sari and comes in some beautiful colours (see below). We are going to knit this jumper up for display - so keep an eye on Window Wach! The pattern book is in stock and we are stocking four of their new Summer yarns.
We are also stocking Lang circular needles, which are made by Addi and are a dream to knit with. The join between the needle itself and the cord is so smooth that your stitches just glide over the join. A delight to use!

Up to our necks in Socks!
As you can see from the picture on the left I am just in the process of knitting my first sock! I have to say it’s addictive and I can’t wait to finish them so that I can start another pair with one of the other great sock yarns that have just come in! I now understand why everyone raves about knitting socks! We have new ranges from Opal (including the yarn I’m using) and also a new supplier, Trekking whose sock yarn comes in gorgeous variegated colours and is amazingly soft.
On the right you will see a photo of the new pure Alpaca double knit sock wool we have just started stocking by Artesano, together with one of the patterns for it (there are three designs). A selection of these will be available on the website soon.

Airplane Knitting
I have just read this article on the Knitter’s Review newsletter and thought it may be of interest:
“In last week's review I mentioned taking my knitting on an airplane. Several of you emailed to ask if knitting needles really were allowed on U.S. flights. Here's the latest scoop.
According to a recent TSA brief on this subject, while knitting needles are allowed on airplanes, individual Security Officers may still deem them a weapon and confiscate them. To avoid this, they recommend traveling with circulars that are less than 31 inches long, and that you stick to needles made of bamboo or plastic. Ironically, they will allow you to bring a crochet hook to "save the work you have already done" in case your needles are confiscated."
