Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter! We have lots of exciting new yarns for you
and a couple of special offers. Some items will be a regular feature, such as ìBackground
Infoî and ìWebsite of the Monthî and there will always be something new to tell you about. I
also would like to feature articles by readers, so if there is something you would like to say,
let me know!

New to the Knitting Hut!
Although we have only been open 4 weeks, new stock is coming through the door every day! We
have just received some beautiful GGH Soft Kid Mohair which
comes in wonderful soft colours
and has a dedicated pattern book
with some gorgeous designs. We
also have two other Rebecca
Pattern books including a Home
book with some fabulous designs
and will be stocking a lot more
GGH yarns in the near future!
Although Spring is apparently on
it’s way, we feel there is still time to
make a gorgeous scarf to see us
through the next few weeks and
the soft light hand dyed yarns in
the Australian Kaalund kits we have
are just perfect for creating
something that will see us into
warmer times! We will be stocking
more of these great hand dyed
yarns as well.
This week we hope to receive
some funky Crystal Palace yarns
which can be knitted together to
create something really unique. I
will say no more you will have to
come and see for yourself!!

Vessels and Vases...
Have you seen the stunning knitting
needle vases in the shop?
These were custom-made by my
sister-in-law, Kay Stratford. She
has developed a beautiful range of
clay coil vases for storing knitting
needles. Kay has produced individual
pieces that are both asymmetrical
and elegantly sculptural.
Her love of the countryside provides
her inspiration; from the
flowing lines of a
ploughed field to
the colour and
texture of tree
bark and lichens
- elements of
which are clearly
reflected in Kay’s
current work.
She is now making
a second batch which will be
glazed on on the inside so that
they can be used as a vase, ready
for a lovely spring bunch of daffodils!
Kay is also a talented sculptor and
you can see an example of her
work in the shop. For more
information about commissions
call her studio on 01438 833671.

Website of the Month :: www.knitscene.com
This American website is based on
the brilliant magazine of the same
name published by Interweave
Press. Interweave publish an a
amazing range of craft books in
the States and have now launched
Knitscene Magazine which has
some fabulous patterns.
The website shows pictures of all
the patterns in the magazine and
includes patterns for twelve of
these. There are also three projects
which are exclusive to the
website to tempt you. We have a
copy of the magazine in the shop
if you are interested in any of the
other patterns.
Coming next month ... a great
website for new knitters recommended
by a customer.
