What's New At The Knitting Hut?

Happy New Year to you all!  We have an exciting month ahead with a few changes to help improve what we do and details of how we will be celebrating our first anniversary at the beginning of February.  We also have a great new accessories booklet from Lana Grossa and news of all the workshops we are planning for the year.  Hope to see you soon, Sue

Window Watch

This month we have a great cardigan from Bergere de France with a wrap front and some clever shaping   It has brightened up our window this month and caught everyone's attention! It is knitted in Ideal which is a double knit yarn made from Wool and Acrylic and is machine washable.  Ideal is a very popular yarn at The Hut and comes in a wide range of colours.

Re-usable Carrier Bag

When we went to Alexandra Palace we gave everyone who came a cloth carrier bag with a few goodies in for the day, they were so popular that we have had some printed and they are available in the shop for £5.95 each.

They are just the right size to keep your knitting project in and should last longer than our newspaper carrier bags and would also make a great present, especially with a kit inside

Website of the Month :: www.knittingonthenet.com

Another site with some great free patterns for you!  Headlined as "Free knitting Patterns for your pleasure"  you re bound to find something you like.  There is also a clever section called "Knitters will love"  which includes a great selection of stitch patterns which are good to browse through.  This site is not as substantial as Knitting Pattern Central, but definately worth a browse!

Handy Hint!

If you are finding that this Winter weather is causing you hands to feel dry and rough and they are snagging on your knitting, why not try this! Mix a teaspoon of sugar and a teaspoon of Olive Oil in your palm, rub your hands together, wash off and apply a handcream like our "Knitters Little Helper" hand balm and your hands will feel silky smooth and the snags will be gone!

Days Out!

We all love a good day out, especially when it involves a hobby!  Do you organise or know of any local craft related events?  If so, let us know and we will let everyone know about it in the newsletter.

The Last Word

Do you go to a Knitting Group who would like some publicity?  We are planning a page on our website all about knitting groups, so let us know and we will publicise your group.
